29 Timeless Ideas to Help You Save Money

Save Money, Debt Free

The latest programs, fads and crazes may come and go, but some strategies for saving money and reducing spending will always be in style.

Here are 29 of our favorite timeless ideas for putting more money back in your pocket. You can bet the farm on these. They’ll be as effective 5 years from now as they are today.

Become A Saavy Shopper

1. All the money saving tips in the world won’t put more money in your wallet if you    buy everything you lay eyes on. Implement a 30 Day Rule. Before you buy, make yourself wait 30 days to ensure it’s not just an impulse buy that will end up in the garage (like our ab-lounger).

2. Don’t go to the grocery store unprepared. Plan Your Meals for the week and make a shopping list. If you’re pressed for time, use an inexpensive service like emeals to do the planning for you. We use emeals, and it’s saved us time and money.

3. Most of the time, generic medicines aren’t almost the same as the name brands. They’re EXACTLY the same. Don’t pay more for fancier packaging.

4. Stop buying junk you don’t care about. Only buy things that will actually add some type of true value to your life. (Hint: To help determine the difference, see tip #1)
